#FOTD: Starring Maybelline!

Taking a break from my Althea beauty box first-impression reviews (see parts 1, 2, and 3), I decided to go all-Maybelline last Thursday. Maybelline is a USA brand found in nearly all Philippine department stores. Echoing what another Instagram beauty blogger has said, they are one of the most generous makeup brands. They have so many sales in a year it's as if they're strategically getting people to try and review their products to create a word-of-mouth hype that will ensure more people will continue to buy their products even after the sale period has ended.

Anywayyy, I must say that the hype surrounding Maybelline products is well worth their products, and the fact that their products are very easy to find makes this a staple brand for Filipinas. Below are the Maybelline products I used that day:

I forwent my moisturizer and used the Baby Skin Pore Eraser as the first layer of product. I topped it with the new Super BB Cream in No. 02 (Medium) and set it using the Dream Satin Skin Two Way Cake in B3. I then applied the Blush Studio Cheeky Glow in "Creamy Cinnamon" and colored my lips with the ColorSensational Creamy Matte Lipstick in "Divine Wine." I finished the look by doing my brows using the Fashion Brow 3D Brow & Nose Palette in "Dark Brown." As you can see, I am lazy when it comes to eye makeup.

Let me first clarify that this is not a review postI was just having a bit of fun that day. Per-product reviews will be reserved for future posts so I can get more in-depth without having lengthy and crowded post.

So below, you can see my face progress from using the primer, the BB cream, and then the powder:

I do my makeup in front of my bedroom window, which is right behind our half-body mirror. The curtains are white but semi-transparent (I'm explaining the lightingphotos might look overexposed and brighter than subjects actually look.

By the way, here are some up-close-and-personal looks of the BB cream and powder:

I used Charm brushes for my base makeup: a stippling brush for the BB cream, and an ordinary powder brush from the Holiday Brush Set for the powder foundation:

On to my blush and blush brush, also from the Charm Holiday Brush Set:

The lipstick I used was the Creamy Matte by Color Sensational in "Divine Wine," my go-to dark red nowadays:

Lastly, I did my brows using the palette:

Below is the before and after of my eyebrows (sorry about the stray hair on the top photo!):

Yay or nay?

Staying true to my Maybelline vow for the day, I skipped the brow gel/mascara (I used one from Nichido) even though I do see the slight need for it in "after" photo.

Below are the two sides of my face showing off my final look before I went off to work. The blush is more noticeable in person, I swear.

Finally, here is a selfie shot!

Thanks for reading!
